Take the “Saturn V” Quiz!

posted in: Quizzes | 15

Welcome to our Friday quiz (released early on Thursday)!

Since we colonials celebrate this little thing called “Independence Day” on July 4th, and many will be off-the-grid and into other festivities, I’m releasing this quiz a wee-bit early.

All week we’ve been posting about the countdown for Apollo 11, and the Saturn V. This week’s quiz is all about the Saturn V Launch Vehicle. Good Luck!

This quiz will be available, but prize eligibility will end on Sunday at midnight US EDT.

This quiz, one prize: (drawn from the high scores): One copy of our Saturn V DVD set. (If you already have this set I will make a substitution)

Since we’re offering prizes we ask that you take the quiz only once, and that you do NOT use the Google machine to give us your answers. Good Luck!

The Saturn V Quiz: You'll be challenged with 10 questions on the Saturn V. Since we consider our quiz candidates to be a competent lot, but this quiz is one of our tougher tests, we've established a passing grade on this quiz of 70%. The quiz features ten questions, each worth ten points.

6 of 10… disappointing. I already have the Saturn V DVD set though – and this shows that it’s been far too long since I watched it!

Wow, I got 10 out of 10. I thought I’d do reasonably well, but not that good.

I got all but one right! And I’m annoyed with myself, because the answer was obvious if I’d been thinking more logically.

90% – I’ll take that! I missed that Apollo 10 was the only Saturn V launched from 39B. I guess that makes sense because in early 1969 they were punching out Apollo launches as fast as they could manage, and by launching Apollo 10 from 39B they could start checking out the Apollo 11 vehicle on the pad much sooner. Great quiz, Mark!
